• 1 pound angel hair pasta
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic paste
  • 1/2 cup freshley grated parmesan cheese or any cheese of your choice
  • Optional minced chives, parsley, oregano, etc. to garnish

Cook pasta in salted water with a little olive oil according to package directions.

Meanwhile, melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Continue cooking over medium heat until butter foams, giving the pan a good occasional swirl. Once butter foams keep a close eye on it. The color will change from yellow to tan and then to brown. Once it reaches brown, remove it from the heat.

Put the desired amount of pasta (for your pet) on a plate. Spoon just enough of the butter over the pasta to coat. Dogs can eat butter, but too many greasy foods in their diet can cause digestive issues and pancreatic damage. Moderation is key.

At this step, sprinkle with cheese. Add chicken, other meat, or veggies to the pasta as desired. Leave to cool.

Place the butter mixture back on low heat and add garlic paste to taste. Note that a teaspoon of garlic paste is equivalent to approximately one clove of garlic. You may use paste or fresh garlic. Stir garlic back into the butter until the garlic is heated but not burned. Remove once again from heat.

Pour butter directly over remaining pasta. Stir in parmesan cheese until melted. Serve hot with minced chives, parsley, or other herbs of your choice.

Keep in mind that pasta is full of carbohydrates. Make sure that you are balancing carbohydrates with proteins and vegetables to make a balanced meal for your pets and you too!

OPTIONAL MODIFICATIONS:  Whole wheat pasta or veggie pasta.
